About Our Organization

LZN’s was officially founded on December 17th, 2007. The sisterhood was founded on the values of lifelong friendships, a healthy lifestyle, equality, and a solid education.  As sisters we become an active part of the MSOE campus and the surrounding communities. We participate in annual events including the Susan G. Komen walk to Cure Breast Cancer, Polar Plunge, St. Patrick’s week and much more!

Lambda Zeta Nu (ɅZN, LZN) is a local, social sorority that was founded in 2007 at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). LZN was founded by 8 friends of various majors, Ashley Bauer, Jolisa Gold, Angela Szpara, Alexis Mossbrucker, Bonnie (Havner) Koski, Elise Gruna, Kristin Kolpin, and Kelly Costello. This group of friends wanted to bring a new face to the sororities of MSOE through their outgoing personalities. Out of this arose the formation of Lambda Zeta Nu Sorority.

Our main philanthropic cause is breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer has affected many sisters’ families and friends. This is why we decided to include the breast cancer ribbon in our crest.  LZN participates in two breast cancer walks during the academic year, Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the fall and American Cancer Society Breast Cancer walk in the spring. In addition to this, LZN has hosted the annual volleyball tournament, Spike for a Cure, since 2010. All proceeds from this event are donated directly to the cancer organization of choice. The sorority also participates and donates to Phi Delta Chi Sorority’s annual Pink Party fundraiser for breast cancer research.
